FNO Part 1

H&M Shirt {borrowed from my sister}, Forever 21 Skirt, Target Shoes,
Vintage Coach Purse, Urban Outfitters Sunnies

On Friday before I headed out for Fashions Night Out, I met up with the lovely
Sara B of Glitter & Grace
It was so fun to meet up with a blogging friend for the first time and on such a beautiful day!
We met at Little Big Burger, a Portland favorite and then she snapped some outfit photos for me.
Don't get me wrong, my usual photographer {Jeff} is fantastic and very patient but sometimes it's nice to have someone take your photos who also takes outfit photos because they know what you're looking for and it's fun to change it up.

This is my FNO outfit and I'll be sure to share more photos of all the fun events and yummy treats tomorrow!

FNO

Who is going to Fashion's Night Out in Downtown Portland tonight?
I'm meeting up with one of my best friends and I'm excited to check out the shows, the drinks and the in-store entertainment {and maybe some free gifts}!

Sorry for the short post, been busy around here planning lots of fun stuff; upcoming trips, photo shoots, coffee dates, oh and job hunting of course :)

Pendleton: The Portland Collection

Growing up my parents absolutely loved (and still love) Pendleton blankets. Since it was something my parents liked, I obviously thought it was weird and avoided it at all costs (like Bob Dylan and who knows what else). Since I can agree that my dad was right about Bob Dylan I can agree that they were right about Pendleton blankets. They are gorgeous and incredibly warm. But all I knew about them was blankets and jackets that look like blankets. That was until Thursday night.

At Portland's Fashion’s Night Out they debuted their Portland Collection, which was very fun to see.

I also found a video by Chris Hornbecker detailing the process of The Portland Collection with many local designers. Another cool thing about this video is the music is by Typhoon, a local to Salem band!

The Portland Collection has been getting a lot of press too. The LA Times did a feature and InStyle gave them a shoutout as well.

Fashion's Night Out

As a fashion obsessed, I've obviously always wanted to go to fashion week in New York or London or Paris or anywhere.. and I've always been intrigued by New York's Fashion's Night Out. Well lucky me because Portland had their very own FNO! FNO started in NY as a way to kick off Fashion Week. In Portland there were free pedi cab rides, chalk art, trunk shows, gift bags, lots of entertainment and light food and refreshments.

I went with two of my good friends (and roommates from college in Eugene) Ashley and Amy. First we came across live parkour sponsored by the new CITY Collection from Columbia Sportswear. Next we ate dinner at Violetta in Director's Park.
Caesar salad & sweet potato fries. Next time I'll try the seasonal fruit (peaches!) and goat cheese salad.

After eating we watched the Pendleton Fashion Show. Yes, Pendleton as in blankets, had a fashion show. Beautiful stuff too! More to come on the Pendleton Portland Collection.
It was such a beautiful (hot) night, so nice to be sitting outside enjoying the show. The fashion shows were in the middle of Director's Park, pretty cool! Treva joined us after dinner to check out the rest of downtown.

We went to Nordstrom, got our photo taken and got some snacks and beverages. From left to right, Amy, Treva, Ashley, Me.

At Nords, I got a free little reusable shopping bag and entered a drawing to win a shopping spree. Didn't win anything but still fun!

Since we went downtown on the later side we went to H&M and then everything started to close up.

I had a great time. It was so fun that Portland did this event and I'm already looking forward to next year. Maybe one day I will even go in New York for Fashion's Night out.

Here is a little more about NY FNO from Bill Cunningham, one of the original street style blogger.
