blush everything

Lou & Grey via Loft pants, Forever 21 jacket, Old Navy tank and shoes, Madewell Kensington Satchel

I fell in love with these pants and they're on sale so I obviously just bought the black pair too. I hadn't been to Loft in a long time. But when I went recently, I fell in love with their Lou & Grey line. Their tag line is clothing for a comfortably confident life. I love it! It's so comfy and cozy without being totally sloppy and frumpy. This is not a sponsored post, I just fell in love with it and wanted to share. I've really been on a hunt for professional pants that look chic but feel like sweatpants. Check!

Thanks to Leah Hope Photography for these photos.

a sweater for the sun

Urban Outfitters sunnies & sweater, Maybelline Fuschia Fever lipstick

fresh picked flowers, kate's old kindle, and the new $1 reusable cup from starbucks

Here is day 2 of my sock bun.
I've been enjoying sitting outside so much lately.
Especially with not much else to do but read, blog, and drink coffee.
I'm obsessing over having an e-reader {thanks baby sis}, fresh picked flowers, and my new reusable cup from starbucks {it's being introduced in the pacific northwest right now, and will be in other parts of the country soon}!
Even though it's starting to cool down, I am trying to start embracing fall by bundling up in the morning and evening. I'm not ready for the sun to go away but oh well.

Ps. tomorrow (oct. 13) is another Portland Blogger Meet Up!
comment or email me for details.

10/11/12

Old Navy sweater, Forever 21 necklace, Maybelline Fuschia Fever Lipstick

today's date is 10/11/12!
besides, that I don't really have much to say today.
I will say that I don't often wear a sock bun {i'm lazy, and for me, a sock bun is often more work than anything else} so I'll be sharing a few more photos tomorrow of this giant bun on my head. And how I'm coping with the inevitable transition into fall.

oh and when I wore my hair like this, someone didn't recognize me at work.
also, I have to keep my sunroof partly open {not the glass part, just the sliding part below that} so that my bun won't hit the ceiling.
see, the sock bun brings lots of interesting things to my day.

I'm feeling good for many reasons:
- Wearing sequins
- Gifts from London
{Thanks Melissa for sending me the adorable sunglasses from London,
perfect timing for the Diamond Jubilee!}
- oh and I'm officially done with college!

::I posted this on my facebook status, which pretty much sums it up::
Well it only took 6 years, 4 cities, 7 different living arrangements, 5 summers at camp, 3 different cars, 2 universities, 1 life changing trip to London, 1 time changing my major, 1 amazingly supportive fiance, my awesome family and best friends, and about 1 million visits to Starbucks to get me to my last day of college!! Thanks doesn't even begin cover it.

Never Say Never

Happy Monday!
Shirt: F21, Pants: Old Navy, Shoes & Belt: Urban Outfitters, Clutch: American Apparel,
Bracelets: BaubleBar, F21, Watch: Fossil, Necklaces: BaubleBar, J.Crew

I have a never say never attitude towards trends so....
How many trends can I squeeze into one outfit?
Colorblocking, colored denim, neon, neutrals, lavender nails, layered jewelry, blah blah blah.
Since I like to try a lot of trends, I finally jumped on the colored denim train. $14.99 at Old Navy? That I can do. I might try a lot of trends and even though not all of the stick {thank goodness, gaucho pants..} I love my new jeans so much that now I want a pair of lavender jeans. I pretty much want everything in lavender right now. Oh and I'm lusting after peplum everything. So.. suggestions?

PS. Today is the first day of the Professional Clothing and Accessory drive to support Dress for Success! Even before it started I had a great response from family and friends, so thank you!
Click here for more info and you can always email me at samantharosen5@gmail.com if you have questions.
My friend Kristen made me an awesome graphic with all the information!
Feel free to share it and link back to my blog.

Lips

Today I'm guest posting for Sara of Glitter & Grace while she is visiting her best friend on the East Coast!
I haven't met Sara in person, she moved to California from Portland, right as I started getting involved with the Portland Blogger Community but I have a feeling we would be friends in real life if we ever met. She shares my interests of sequins, nails, pretty things, girly things, yummy things, etc etc.
And it's too bad she can't come to our blogger meet ups because I know she would love them!
She is the one who started them after all.

Check out my favorite lipsticks here, and here's a sneak peek!

Update, I received an amazing new color from Radiant Cosmetics in my Portland Blogger Meet Up gift bag on Saturday!
Since I already had this post prepped and ready for Sara last week, I will review my new color soon. It's already a great addition to my collection {dark red!} since I've been wearing it nonstop.

more mustard & mint

Going with the pastel theme, a new favorite color combo of mine is mustard & mint.
you probably figured that out yesterday with my outfit, but it was just too easy to make it into a second outfit with my nails and a pair of my favorite shoes.
ps. thanks Liz for making me buy these for your wedding!
I'm considering buying the black ones for my brother's wedding.. they are just so comfortable.
Dress as skirt: Target, Shirt: Walmart, Scarf: American Apparel, Jacket: F21,

Blowout Dry Bar: Review

I had a gift card {Thanks Jeff!} and chose to try out Blowout before my birthday party last Saturday.
It was so easy to book an appointment online which was so nice.
I didn't get many photos cause I was trying to relax after a really busy morning, but I loved the aesthetic inside. Very bright, clean, girly, good music, good smells, nice staff, comfy couch to sit and wait on, plenty of new magazines, and ghost chairs!

I had a great time getting my hair washed, dried, and curled.
On the menu, I went for a mix between 'The Flirt' and 'Divalicious'. Other options are 'Sleek and Chic', 'Half 'n Half', and 'Pretty Twisted'. The stylist working with my hair was nice and receptive to my ideas and suggestions about  my hair. I also had the 'mini makeover' which was eyes, cheeks, and lips.
I had such a fun time trying Blowout! I'll definitely go back.
Not to mention, I got my hair done at 1pm and my party was at 7, it held all night!

::Specials::
Mondays they have one free hour of childcare from WeVillage between 10-4 ages 2-12
Tuesdays they have a 2 for 1 Blowout Luscious!
Sundays they have free mimosas with a blowout!

Here's a good photo of my hair:
