a-line skirts

H&M skirt {similar}, Loft chambray softened shirt, Zara heels {similar, similar}, Urban Outfitters sunnies, American Apparel clutch, Heather Belle cuff c/o Favery

This is one of my favorite types of outfits when I'm not wearing jeans. I wear this skirt to work ALL the time. I love the length, the pockets, and the forgiving cut. I'm looking for it in white, any suggestions? Also, this is the comfiest chambray!

Ps. Happy Veteran's Day.
Thank you to all those that have served and all those currently serving.
It's small, but I heard that Starbucks is giving a free house coffee to veterans today. go get it!

apple cider donuts

I keep saying that I'm not ready for fall, and I stand by that but my actions are speaking louder than my words these days. It probably helps that it's still sunny and warm outside. We picked up these fresh apple cider donuts and some apple cider at the pumpkin patch this weekend and they are so good.
We had a great time at EZ Orchards with Jeff's family, especially our sweet niece!

all that fall stuff

Leith t-shirt via Nordstrom Savvy, Target coated denim, Zara heels, grandpa's watch

I know everyone is so excited for pumpkin spice lattes, chunky sweaters, sitting by the fire with a good fall book, watching the rain, stepping on crunchy leaves on an evening walk in the crisp air, baking harvest bread with apples and caramel and all that jazz. But surprise surprise, I'm not. I don't mind crisp air on a sunny day but I am so not ready for rain and grey. I think I say this every year but I stand by it. I'll be drinking my iced drinks and avoiding my long puffy coat as long as possible.
Although I have been enjoying wearing easy outfits like this recently.
Hoping this sun sticks around for at least the weekend!

lavender everything

TJ Maxx shirt, American Eagle jeans, Forever 21 blazer and purse, H&M flower, Steve Madden Poized shoes,
Fossil watch, J.Crew bracelet

ps. thanks Baby Sis for letting me use your purse. this must be what it was like when I went to college and you raided my closet? How the tables have turned.

Back to regular programming!
First things first: After wearing these almost everyday after buying them, I decided I needed a pair of similar heels. I found these J.Crew shoes, decided they were perfect. except for their price. Then Crystalin shared these Steve Madden shoes and they were a close match and a much better price, especially with a promo code {check out her blog for more promo codes}.

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments about our engagement photos!!

oh and we took these a while ago before the rain and grey set in.
I just had to share the engagement photos as soon as possible, which bumped some posts.
Happy Thursday!

a sweater for the sun

Urban Outfitters sunnies & sweater, Maybelline Fuschia Fever lipstick

fresh picked flowers, kate's old kindle, and the new $1 reusable cup from starbucks

Here is day 2 of my sock bun.
I've been enjoying sitting outside so much lately.
Especially with not much else to do but read, blog, and drink coffee.
I'm obsessing over having an e-reader {thanks baby sis}, fresh picked flowers, and my new reusable cup from starbucks {it's being introduced in the pacific northwest right now, and will be in other parts of the country soon}!
Even though it's starting to cool down, I am trying to start embracing fall by bundling up in the morning and evening. I'm not ready for the sun to go away but oh well.

Ps. tomorrow (oct. 13) is another Portland Blogger Meet Up!
comment or email me for details.

10/11/12

Old Navy sweater, Forever 21 necklace, Maybelline Fuschia Fever Lipstick

today's date is 10/11/12!
besides, that I don't really have much to say today.
I will say that I don't often wear a sock bun {i'm lazy, and for me, a sock bun is often more work than anything else} so I'll be sharing a few more photos tomorrow of this giant bun on my head. And how I'm coping with the inevitable transition into fall.

oh and when I wore my hair like this, someone didn't recognize me at work.
also, I have to keep my sunroof partly open {not the glass part, just the sliding part below that} so that my bun won't hit the ceiling.
see, the sock bun brings lots of interesting things to my day.

Ah Pumpkins

This weekend Jeff, Kristen, Amelia and I went to Sauvie Island for some pumpkin hunting. We all bought a livingsocial coupon for the trip and were excited at the promise of roasted corn, a caramel apple, corn maze, and a pumpkin up to 25 pounds each. Most of us hadn't been out to Sauvie Island, and let me tell you, I am ready to go back immediately. Kristen is ready to retire there.

There was a big deal made about finding rain boots, didn't happen, and even though it was a beautiful sunny fall day, I just couldn't handle the mud paths in the maze. So I walked around the farm taking pictures while Jeff, Kristen and Amelia made it to the middle of the maze. I felt good about my decision. We ended up being at the farm for most of the day, there was just so much to do!

Kristen in a nutshell

White pumpkin of course.

Then our camp friend Kyle (Falafel) stopped by with his Fiance, Kristen!

Yes they are impressive! Can't wait for the wedding!
