flares are back

Gap wide leg denim {similar flares here and here}
Target Los Angeles tee
Urban Outfitters dolman sweater {similar and similar}
Zara heels {similar}
Urban Outfitters hat
Gorjana Bali V Tube necklace via Rocksbox {use code samxoxo for your first month free}

Flares are back!
I was talking to two of my best friends last night in a group text and I had to break it to them that flares are back. They didn't seem excited but I'm sure they'll come around to it. It won't be like the mid 2000's where we only wore flares, they're just in addition to our faithful skinny jeans and boyfriend jeans, not replacing anything.

I've got my eye on a pair from Madewell. I'm really loving the 70's right now.

Also, what is that sun spot in some of my photos?
Jeff thinks it looks like a bird. I can't unsee it.

a casual start to march

J.Crew factory v-neck, Rubbish chambray from Nordstrom BP, Old Navy Rock Star jeans, Zara heels, Urban Outfitters sunnies, Lady Evelyn Lady Sweet necklace c/o, Target pave bracelet

Happy March!
The sun came out for a few days last week and it was so beautiful.
Thanks again to Lady Evelyn for sending me this gorgeous necklace!
Perfect addition.

I had a good and relaxing weekend. I knew good things were coming in March but I didn't even realize how many good things until this weekend when I really got to thinking.

1. Jeff and I will be come an uncle and aunt for the first time!
2. Jeff's sister, sister-in-law and I have our birthdays all in the same week,
and did I mention our niece is due that week??
3. I get to see ALL my best friends! I am pretty serious about birthdays so I make sure to see them!
4. Jeff and I are going to Santa Clara/Half Moon Bay/San Francisco for a long weekend!
We will visit my sibs and Jeff's never been to San Fran!

white jeans

thrifted sweater, J. Crew toothpick jeans, Arizona booties

While I wore all black in the last post, today is all about light bright neutrals.
I've been wanting a pair of white jeans but white jeans are tough!
They have to be the right fit and thickness so they don't show too much.. yikes. I found these on the sale rack at J.Crew, they didn't have my size and while at first I declined the saleswoman's offer to search other stores, she looked them up online and they were still full price {Since the rest of the world is still wearing white jeans but not us in the PNW}, she offered to call and let the online peeps know the in store sales price so they could match it for me and THEN it was 40% off all sale stuff. I accepted her offer to make the call.
These jeans were 17.99 and free shipping. Best day ever.

Paired with my chunkiest biggest warmest sweater and booties, that's all.

29.10.13

black and white

Banana Republic shirt, Old Navy cable knit sweater, J.Brand ankle zipper skinny jeans, Zara heels

I wore this over the weekend and it was easy and comfortable. Jeff and I had a really busy weekend, Dad's birthday, Leslie's golden birthday, Justine and Eric's engagement party, along with some shopping and furniture wishlist making in The Pearl District of Portland.
Our apartment is slowly coming along and we will slowly be getting almost all new furniture!
So exciting and so fun to plan and dream and research all this beautiful furniture.
Can we win the lottery so we can get it all NOW?
Do you have favorite places to get beautiful furniture? Tell me!

a weekend outfit

Loft embellished sweater, J.Crew factory boyfriend jeans, Zara heels, H&M belt,
Fossil rose gold watch

Over the weekend I wore a combination of this outfit, wore flats with this outfit for the greek festival in portland and then changed into heels and nicer jeans for a bachelorette dinner. My weekends have been significantly less busy since the wedding and it's been amazing. We have time to see friends, work on organizing/cleaning our apartment, and relax.
ps. Jeff put up a shelf for shoes in my closet this weekend! he is a total dream.

26.3.13

blue jeans

Got myself some sale and a birthday coupon jeans this weekend. Also pictured, the awesome and practical birthday gift from my sister, white converse. I'm feeling pretty good about the big discounts I got on these jeans. They were on sale and then I used my Anthropologie coupon to get another discount. I love wearing casual jeans and tennis shoes but still feeling put together. On another note; I was going to say I literally don't remember the last time I bought designer jeans but that is a total lie. The last time was in high school. I bought tons of them back then. I had to have them. and now, I have an entire box of designer jeans that don't fit me anymore and I don't even want to add up how much all of those cost me back then. I guess I hold onto them because they were so expensive and maybe one day I'll be able to wear at least one of those pairs of jeans again. A girl can dream right? Does anyone else feel attached to clothes like this?

25.3.13

rebellious

Forever 21 white blazer and necklace, J.Crew factory jeans, Urban Outfitters flats,
Target tassel clutch, Montana shirt from boutique in Montana

There's some profanity in my shirt, it's discreet but sorry if it offends!
Thanks Justine for taking these photos.

I've had this shirt for years, ever since I visited one of my college roommates in her home state, Montana. I don't wear this shirt very often, but people hardly ever notice that it has a bad word on it. It's my small way of rebelling. I walk around all day with a bad word on my shirt and no one even notices. I hope everyone had a good weekend! For once Jeff and I didn't have much planned, but that meant we got to see some friends, run some errands, and enjoy the time off.

3.1.13

Simple

Delia's peplum shirt, J.Crew Factory jeans, Target belt, Urban Outfitters black pumps, Fossil watch, Nordstrom bracelet, J.Crew Factory Giraffe necklace, BaubleBar Large Monogram necklace

I've been gravitating towards simple outfits these days.
Must be the cold weather and the fact that I'm wearing a coat most of the day.
Happy Thursday!

14.12.12

A River Runs Through It

J.Crew Factory shirt, Old Navy salmon jeans, Target shoes,

I got those soup cans at my work holiday party white elephant gift exchange!
They are the Andy Warhol limited edition line sold at Target to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the artists original painting of the cans.
I've been dying to get my hands on them but also kept forgetting when I was at Target so it was perfect when I saw them at the party. What a great gift!
The person who brought them also likes to name my outfits at work, he dubbed these pants 'A River Runs Through It' because they are salmon colored.
Don't ask questions, just go with it.
He also said my pants and shoes weren't too matchy matchy so that's a good.
It just makes perfect sense that someone who took an interest in my outfits brought a gift that I ended up with.

Happy Friday!

25.10.12

lavender everything

TJ Maxx shirt, American Eagle jeans, Forever 21 blazer and purse, H&M flower, Steve Madden Poized shoes,
Fossil watch, J.Crew bracelet

ps. thanks Baby Sis for letting me use your purse. this must be what it was like when I went to college and you raided my closet? How the tables have turned.

Back to regular programming!
First things first: After wearing these almost everyday after buying them, I decided I needed a pair of similar heels. I found these J.Crew shoes, decided they were perfect. except for their price. Then Crystalin shared these Steve Madden shoes and they were a close match and a much better price, especially with a promo code {check out her blog for more promo codes}.

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments about our engagement photos!!

oh and we took these a while ago before the rain and grey set in.
I just had to share the engagement photos as soon as possible, which bumped some posts.
Happy Thursday!
