dark and moody

Happy Monday.

I've been wearing a lot of black lately.
I guess that means I've finally accepted that it's not summer anymore.
It was significantly warmer in San Francisco. Not hot, but warmer!
I've been staying cozy at home. But when I want to leave the house, there is a new coffee shop in town, Archive, that's been keeping me warm. I've been there everyday since it opened ... it's good.

simple style

You might have seen this photo on my instagram and on Glitter Guide's instagram
Last weekend I went to Justine's for coffee. We got to talking about home decor and style, it's always fun to talk and dream about all the things we'd do to our apartments if we had an unlimited budget! But when we talked about style, it made me realize that my style has changed so much in the last few years. I'm sure some of you are thinking, duh, that's how trends and style works.

I think this outfit is a perfect example of how simplified my style and outfits have become. I used to wear a lot more layers and accessories but now I'd much rather wear something simple.

boho fringe + five years

Happy Labor Day!
I'm grateful to have this day off, I'm looking forward to helping Jeff finish up his classroom.

I wore this outfit this weekend and I want to wear it everyday. Thanks to my sister for letting me borrow this tank {or dress if you're her} before she went back to school.
I've been drooling over it all summer!

I was at work on Friday and realized that it was Jeff and my fifth dating anniversary! I've been so focused on our wedding anniversary next weekend that I almost forgot out dating anniversary. How soon I forgot! Since we remembered that day we kept it low key and it was great.
Jeff took these photos for me, we had sushi for dinner and we saw Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a great way to celebrate five years of being together. Five years! I'm a lucky woman.

heat wave

Old Navy tank, Asos skirt, Madewell Kensington satchel, Target sandals

I'm personally loving this hot weather. Sometimes I think we should move somewhere warm but then I just can't imagine not living in Oregon. This warm weather reminds me of our honeymoon {part 1, part 2, part 3}, and it was at least 15 degrees warmer there! I much prefer to be warm than cold.

a life update

Happy Wednesday!
This week doesn't seem any less busy than the last few weeks. It's that time of year!
This is the busiest time of year at my job, we have our biggest event/fundraiser next week.
It's going to be great but it's also bittersweet because it's the last event I'll work at my current job.
Because I accepted a new job!

Without going into too much detail, it's transition time for me. I'll be at another local non-profit doing the same type of work I've been doing, helping to organize the fundraising events. I've loved my job the last few years and I am looking forward to the next chapter. Jeff will also be starting a new job in the fall, he will be a 5th grade teacher! We've had a few bumps in the road this past year and I really feel like we are on an upswing and we are starting to live the life we are supposed to live. I am never a fan of transitions but I am looking forward to this one for both of us. I'll be starting my new job in August, which means things might be slower here again. I'll always keep my instagram up to date though.

Thank you to all our friends and family that have been so supportive and excited for both of us!

the short sleeve

Happy Tuesday!
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I bought this shirt for Jeff and I mentioned that I'd be stealing it immediately. Well, I let him wear it once before taking it.
And I picked up these blue heels, my obsession with blue continues!
I wore some combination of these items all weekend, so easy and comfortable.
